Yesterday when I came home and opened FB which has become one inevitable thing for me in my daily routine, I was spellbound at the number of wall posts with VTV. I got more than intrigued to watch the movie right away.
I called up my friend and traveled 20+kms to the nearest theatre screening the movie. I got the tickets after more than half an hour of standing in a very long queue. I sworn to myself to savor every frame of it.
Now I take a neutral stance about the movie.I got mixed responses from guys, but why on earth so many girls were fascinated by VTV.
When I went to bed after watching the movie at around 1PM I was more than tired, but something was running as a background job(Mainframe terminology :p)
Here I present to you the outcome of that job conjugated with a little research.
The top 7 reasons why I strongly do believe are the reasons for the profound feminine liking for VTV:
1. ARR’s music, without which the movie would have been a blown-out balloon.
2. 2+hrs of Ogling at the cute, sweet, handsome Simbu.
3. The irrefutable truth that IT salary can make even Trisha gorgeous.
4. The cool concept of just friends and the freedom and the flexibility that comes with it.
5. Putting herself in Jessey’s shoes and the very feel of a guy like Simbu chasing her like crazy.
6. Even if she chooses the best option (Financially and hence pragmatically), she can still maintain a non-bitchy image as she is so in love with her parents.
7. Even if she has a nice time with an unemployed unsettled cool guy, she can always look forward to settle in the US marrying a well paid professional.
I could see lousy things flying towards me at my smutty review. Thank you for all that :p
All I wish for is a hay-day for spotalks.

your 200% correct. I second your thoughts, I too introspected on similar lines.
ReplyDeletei'm happy that at least u support me sati :p
ReplyDeleteU knw wat lobby likes the movie :p :p
May be coz of his nw found lov :p :P :p
If something like that happens in real life, people will be unf*king pissed off (often used in VTV for no apparent reasons).
ReplyDeleterofl
ReplyDeleteshanketh u have me too ;)(though i never watched the movie, now chuck tht) ,the thing is wen it comes to simbu n' his dad ,i back anyone's words that go against them :D:D:D
ReplyDeleteOh come on!!! It was the maturity presented in the film that attracted most girls, me included!!
ReplyDeleteI hate Simbu like anything..but i think he did a fair job with his character in this movie, esp in showing his frustration.
And it isn't IT salary that makes Trisha gorgeous. Its just her make up artist!! :P
2.5 hrs of fantasizing that they would also get such a boyfriend? lol.. Get real girls and pay attention to the dudes looking at you. point in case to the girl in my office who never notices :|
ReplyDeleteBTW I haven't watched the movie yet and have a friend who s a girl that's asked me to take her to watch it. Let me see whats all the brouhaha about.
I knew it was kitty writing who had written the article just by reading the title! I have not seen the movie and can't pass judgement.
ReplyDelete@powergal90- maturity? now you had me there- nice joke! I don't see any evidence to support your claims and would like to be proven otherwise...
it was mature in the sense that there was no far fetched stuff like..oh i'll die for u..and blah blah blah.....the story was really practical and i believe that this is what happens in real life....
ReplyDeletenot all love stories have a happy ending. period. that's what the story is all about!
@Naresh
ReplyDeleteComment rejected.
@Jagdish
:p :P :p
@Narayan
Coolll... I have gained some reputation :p
@Powergal
I don mean to counter u. Of course the movie is mature in a way, but practicality?!? Well do u honestly think that hwever intense someone loves a gal he ll be sticking to that failed love for 3yrs let alone a guy like Karthick (Simbu :p)
yes...why else wld u have ppl like Devdas??? From the many guys i've heard..the loss of one woman can only be completed by another woman of almost the same character and personality....so till that person is found he can remain single..possibly for the rest of his life if he doesn't find her.....
ReplyDelete@PG
ReplyDeleteSeriously I couldn contain laughing. Sry dear but.. ok listen Devdas is a legend and that devdas may nt be as charming as SRK in the movie devdas.
And talking abt getting a lover of the same attributes and comparing it to love, I could see u r a gal :p
Love is more of sensual than emotional, even in VTV that was very well affirmed. So, kitty might be correct.
ReplyDeletei alr mentioned i'm a girl in the previous comment......:P
ReplyDelete@PG
ReplyDeleteThen I should say 'A typical gal' :p
Though u aren't. U r strong n good :)
Glad u said that...:)
ReplyDeleteFinallyy this has become the most commented post of mine ever :p
ReplyDeleteThank u guys :)
@ sat: Love happens all cos of the hormones running thru ur body....even emotions are controlled by them...i'd say it is a mix of sensual and emotional attributes.....and well as proven by the movie, the women show their emotions more.....:D
ReplyDelete@PG
ReplyDeleteHw is that u r always semi-sensible.
Hormones I understand even mother's love is oxytocin, but it also depends on ur mind.
That's y pituitary is closely linked with the brain. There are mothers who hav poisoned their progeny.
And abt the movie and women's emotion -> :p
Hw could u say that after the cold visage of Jessey portrayed thru most of the movie.
i havent watched the movie, and actually i dont intend to either.
ReplyDeletebut based on what ive heard of the story line, i do think the plot is believable in this day and age. i do have guy friends who have waited years on end after their failed relationships, not because they want to wait for THAT girl or for her identical "twin", but because of the heartache. Macho in every other sense, guys are known to be weaker in dealing with relationship blows, and sometimes failure in one relationship can bring about skepticism, fear, and suspicion towards any other woman that walks into his life because his previous bad experience makes him wonder if this one will really be any better. Girls are usually more optimistic with new relationships, that everything is going to be perfect this time (and then they get upset when it's not - different story there).
and back to kitty's original post
>>7. Even if she has a nice time with an unemployed unsettled cool guy, she can always look forward to settle in the US marrying a well paid professional. <<
there is a difference between love and reality. sometimes when people fall in love, they do it for all the wrong reasons. and then when it comes to thinking about something more serious, like marriage, it comes falling on their heads that the guy/girl they're dating arent the right people. suddenly they worry about what their parents and relatives will say, if religion is going to be a problem, if their educations are too different, whether their professions are going to conflict, etc etc, all the practical worries they should have had before committing to the relationship in the first place. it's nice to chase after someone, it's nice being chased, but it sucks when your chase ends and you see your prize get taken away by someone else because you lacked the foresight to see that the path you ran down was a freakin dead end!
so yea, it's very common these days, to love with your blind heart but marry with your smart brain ;)
@ Kitty: there would have been a reason why the mother would have poisoned her progeny; either she has gone mad or she feels that the child is better off dead than suffering living.....
ReplyDeleteJessie was not cold, it is how women are...:P
@Kiran
ReplyDeleteA mini-post as a comment. Thanks a million for ur interest :)
@PG
Again semi-sensible.
Jessie isn't cold and women r like that :p
sorry correction,
ReplyDeletelet me make myself clear...
Jessie wasn't cold..her circumstance made her react as such, any woman wld have done the same...that was what i meant to say earlier....
@PG
ReplyDeleteI don share ur perseverance :p
I give up
and to be honest.
I loved the movie :)
hahaha....i see i made my point...i rest my case now...:)
